The Skibbereen Food Company
My work for The Skibbereen Food Company involves Product Photography, Food Photography and Personal Branding Photography on an ongoing basis, as they grow their Scratch My Pork product range.
Between January 2019 and October 2020, we had done 4 photo shoots together, as their range of flavours and package sizes increased. It is very exciting to have the opportunity to work with a brand from the early stages and help grow its image and its sales.
Personal Branding / Personal Service
I first met Matthew Brownie in 2018, through a contact in the hotel business who told me she knew a chef/entrepreneur who was expanding his range of snack foods and was looking for a photographer with experience of product photography and personal branding to help him with building his brand.
When “The Kiwi Culchie” as Matthew is known, and I got together, he explained that he was producing a range of pork crackling for sale in shops and pubs, and that he was expanding into the online market in the UK via Amazon, so he needed ongoing product shots as the range expanded.
Matthew was also going to be the face of the brand, so in addition to the product shots, he also needed fun, personality photographs of himself that he could use on his website and across his social media platforms.
Food Photography
The first shoot we did in January of 2019 featured the new packaging and some fun profile pictures of Matthew, but we felt that it was important to show that the products were made from the highest quality ingredients, so I added some food photography, showing the pork and the selection of spices used in the manufacture of the crackling, which are impressively free of Gluten, Diary and MSG. They are 100% Irish Pork and High in Protein.
I photographed all the food, product and social media images at my home studio and garden in Clonakilty, which allows for social distancing and has been really handy, as Matthew is based only 30 minutes away in Skibbereen.
I’m looking forward to continuing my working relationship with The Kiwi Culchie and watching his business grow bigger and bigger.
